About the SharedLunch System

The story of SharedLunch is brief and of little interest. The system was designed to help mitigate some of the problems expressed in a blog posting titled, "Lunch in less than 20 person-hours" by Josh Peck.

It was obvious that Josh had been spending too much time in the office when he started to attempt to streamline the lunch ordering process to improve efficiency. We all wish him a safe and happy recovery from his latest breakdown.

Regardless of his questionable mental state, the idea was solid. Lunch at work is a pain because people drag their feet and can't make up their minds. If we had a system to help keep our best people from playing wait-staff to their colleagues in the office, it might reduce the stress in the office and result in fewer stranglings.
